Wilmington Eye in Scotts Hill opened in June of 2020, increasing access to affordable vision care and specialty ophthalmic care. Here, we offer a spacious full-service eye care facility closer to home for patients residing in or near Hampstead, Porters Neck, Holly Ridge, and beyond.

Our Scotts Hill practice offers primary vision care in the form of routine and comprehensive eye exams, surgical ophthalmic care, as well as diagnosis, management, and treatment of a full range of eye conditions.

In addition, Wilmington Eye in Scotts Hill is one of two Wilmington Eye practices providing pediatric ophthalmology for children. To date, our office provides the only pediatric ophthalmologist in the area. Children from infancy to adulthood can be seen for primary vision care and specialized surgical needs, including strabismus surgery and other eye muscle surgeries.

Wilmington Eye at Scotts Hill also operates a full-service optical shop, housing a vast inventory of eyewear for adults and children alike, making it an ideal place for patients to fill their eyeglasses or contact lens prescriptions and to shop for quality sunglasses (prescription and non-prescription).

Our Scotts Hill office is also home to Wilmington Eye’s training area for new ophthalmic technicians and employees, ensuring optimal patient care across all Wilmington Eye locations.

Our team of board-certified ophthalmic surgeons in Scotts Hill include Dr. Matej Polomsky, Dr. Robert van der Vaart, Dr. Samantha Watson, and Dr. Clark Springs. Wilmington Eye is also proud to offer specialized surgical eyecare for children of the Scotts Hill area from Dr. Melissa Shipley, board-certified pediatric ophthalmic surgeon. Each surgeon brings dedicated care to our patients and incomparable expertise to the practice.

Wilmington Eye in Scotts Hill is also comprised of a skilled team of experienced eye doctors including Dr. Leann Geerts, Dr. Hilary Cox, Dr. Chad Tisdale, and Dr. Gail Kelley all offering routine and comprehensive eye exams to our Scotts Hill patients. Each provider brings a unique background and years of experience in primary care optometry including ocular disease management, diabetic vision care, and pre—and post-operative LASIK and cataract care. Dr. Hilary Cox specializes in primary vision care for all ages, including children and infants. Her expertise includes the evaluation and treatment of strabismus, amblyopia, as well as comprehensive eye exams for both children and adults. Dr. Tisdale specializes in treating patients with dry eye disease and diabetes.

Getting to our Scotts Hill Office

Wilmington Eye at Scotts Hill is located just off Highway 17 between Porters Neck and Hampstead. In this burgeoning medical community, patients may also recognize the neighboring Novant Health building, ED North. Those traveling from Hampstead will drive southwest on Hwy 17. The Wilmington Eye office will be on the left, shortly after Poplar Grove Plantation. Take a left onto Scotts Hill Loop Road, then a right on Pandion Drive, and a right turn onto Scotts Hill Medical Drive. Through the traffic circle, take your second exit (staying on Scotts Hill Medical Drive) then turn left onto Senca Drive.

From Wilmington, patients can travel north on 421 or Market Street to Highway 17. Roughly three miles after passing Bayshore, Wilmington Eye is located on the right. Look for the third traffic light from Wilmington (before Scotts Hill Loop Road). Turn right onto Scotts Hill Medical Drive, then take a right onto Senca Drive.

Our facility occupies approximately 14,000 square feet of the total 38,000 square feet available. Tenant space is available upstairs, including separate entrances. We are actively accepting applications to rent in this premiere medical community.
