How Much Does LASIK Cost?
Following safety, cost is one of the most important factors when considering LASIK. So, how much does LASIK cost? Some LASIK providers charge per eye, while others have a tiered pricing structure based on your prescription—the higher your prescription, the more you’ll pay. And we’ve all seen those ads that advertise LASIK for just $200.
At Wilmington Eye, we charge a simple, flat fee for LASIK. Our price will not go up or down based on your prescription. There are also no hidden fees. And, our LASIK fee takes into account the care you’ll receive prior to your LASIK procedure and after your LASIK procedure. You won’t have to pay out of pocket for any of your pre-surgical visits or your post-operative appointments for an entire year. Our LASIK fee also includes an as-needed enhancement within the first year following your surgery.
We also partner with CareCredit to offer simple, affordable financing options for up to 18 months.
What’s Included in Our LASIK Fee
- All pre-surgical appointments
- A custom surgical plan
- Your LASIK procedure
- All post-operative appointments for an entire year
- One as-needed enhancement during the 12 months following your procedure
The Value of LASIK
Not only do you deserve a safe procedure, you also deserve an affordable procedure that adds value to your life. In order to determine the true value of LASIK, it’s important to first consider the cost savings associated with no longer wearing corrective lenses. Both glasses and contacts come with recurring costs. Let’s analyze those recurring costs.
Recurring Costs Associated with Contact Lenses
Based on national averages, people who wear contacts can spend up to $700 a year on contact lenses, solution, and cases. If you have been wearing contact lenses for 15 years, that adds up to tens of thousands of dollars.
$700 x 15 Years = $10,500
In addition to the financial costs associated with wearing contact lenses, it’s important to consider the intangible costs, like convenience and comfortability.
Recurring Costs Associated with Glasses
Based on national averages, a new pair of glasses can cost anywhere from $268 to $343. As adults, we typically go through one pair of glasses every year. If you have been wearing glasses for 15 years, that adds up to thousands of dollars.
$343 x 15 Years = $5,145
