Comprehensive Eye Care with a Focus on Ocular Health
Hailey Dunlow, OD, is an optometrist providing comprehensive vision care with a special interest in the diagnosis and management of ocular disease. She joined Wilmington Eye in October of 2025 and is dedicated to delivering accessible, patient-focused care to individuals and families throughout the region. Dr. Dunlow also serves patients during our Saturday clinic, offering added convenience for those with busy weekly schedules.
Dr. Dunlow earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, graduating summa cum laude, the highest academic honor. She also received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, also graduating with high academic honors.
She completed a residency in ocular disease at Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers, where she provided consultation and post-operative care for cornea, cataract, retina, glaucoma, and refractive surgery patients. Her residency also included performing anterior segment procedures such as lasers, injections, and minor surgical interventions.
Dr. Dunlow’s clinical experience spans a wide range of patient needs and care environments, including the Birmingham Veterans Affairs Medical Center and UAB Eye Care. Her training includes managing chronic anterior and posterior segment disease, and treating ocular emergencies. She also served as a fourth-year teaching assistant, helping guide optometry students in primary care, contact lens, pediatrics, and specialty clinics.
Dr. Dunlow is an active member of the American Academy of Optometry, the American Optometric Association, and the North Carolina Optometric Society. She has been recognized for academic excellence through the UAB School of Optometry Dean’s List and induction into the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society.
Dr. Dunlow is committed to helping patients achieve their best possible vision through thoughtful, individualized care.
Vision challenges are often unexpected, and helping patients understand, protect, and maintain their sight throughout life is what makes this work so meaningful.
In her free time, Dr. Dunlow enjoys visiting and trying new local coffee shops, as well as going to church, traveling, and hiking.
